....this is what we did.

While going to IMAX is an AWESOME experience, I don't think the kids really appreciated the 8 story screen, digital sound, etc.  By the way, its the largest movie screen in North Carolina.  Normally we go to the $1.50 movie where we refill our popcorn tub for $2.50, so this was a special trip indeed.  I just felt the need to wow Ashleigh before she started to school.  This was also the 1st 3D movie for them, which was a little frightening in the beginning.  Some scary previews were shown & it did feel like the movie was coming out to get you.  Julia even said...this movie won't hurt us will it?  Although I did feel a part of the movie...even getting queasy at times.  It was AWESOME!!!!!

Some things are just worth it & this one lived up to the hype...although Ashleigh didn't like it as much as the 1st one.  Isn't that the case with most movies!  This movie was a lot more action adventure...6 thumbs up from us.  Yay.

Love how Mr. David said these kids won't remember all of these memory verses, but at a critical point in their life the holy spirit will bring them to mind!

The Poser & The Actress

Today was Ashleigh's 1st time on skates, outside the house :) .  She stayed mostly in the grass, which is like a plush carpet...really, come by & check it out!  I was going to pick only one of these pics, but just one didn't do Julia justice.  She loves to act silly for the camera...in fact to get a smile I have to say, "let me see your precious face."  That's what I finally said after the 1st two pictures.

Wow, life is awesome with 2 girls with such different personalities!

God is good!

Happy 1st Birthday Beckett!

We were all looking forward to Beckett's birthday.  He's such a content, happy little fellow, and cute as a button.

He loved pushing around this little firetruck.

Ashleigh & Julia were so excited to attend Baby Beckett's birthday party.

He was so careful tasting the frosting.

Thanks for including us in Beckett's 1st birthday.  Happy birthday little one.  We loved seeing you eat your 1st cake!!!

Fall Festival time!

Tonight was fall festival at Pleasant Grove & we had a blast.  Stewart was working tonight & couldn't come.  Boo :( .  If anyone's considering Pleasant Grove for a preschool it's awesome.  Both of my kids have atttended.  If they've ever fallen behind in a certain area, teachers have communicated a weak area & we've worked on it at home.  Some are called & are gifted in the area of homeschooling, not me I'm afraid.  Give me the extra support anyday.  This year Julia has Ms. Shari & Ms. Lisa (Ashleigh's teachers as well when she was 3.)  Julia's learned so much already.  The other day when we were on our way to preschool Julia said, "I must wait my turn."  She said it in a very positive, happy, I'm proud of myself kind of way.  She's also so proud of everything she makes there!

With gymnastics this afternoon & a late grocery store run, we only caught the tale end of the festival, but it was SO worth going seeing Julia dance for everyone.  If she hears music she HAS to dance.  Funny, reminds me so much of her Great-Grandfather.  In his nineties I've seen him dance at Lone Star Steakhouse on the way to our table.  I've thought often how much he would have loved the kids, as their Great-Grandma would say, I love you to pieces mieces.

This is a small clip of her dance performance tonight:

Stew grew it.

Check out this extra large yumm-o sandwich!

This was from an extra large heirloom tomato grown in our garden. Stew said it was SOOOOO GOOOOD!

Too bad I'm doing vegan this month, huh. I did have a super yummy tomato & avocado sandwich & didn't miss the bacon hardly at all.

1st day of 1st grade

Wow, I just can't believe how much she's grown & changed!  The 1st pic is from the 1st day of kindergarten.  She's growing into a remarkable young lady...so proud of her!

1st day of 1st grade!  She really wanted to wear her gymnastics shirt!
She really wants me to do different hairstyles now, not just "preschool styles".  She's really developing her own sense of style.

Off to the bus stop with Daddy.
She's really growing up!  As she's becoming more & more independent as much as I want to stop it I can't & shouldn't.  Watching her walk away to the bus stop was very surreal for me.
